-Fluorinated plastics can be useful in a number of situations.  They tend to be very clean, are heat resistant, chemically resistant, and have many other desirable properties.  The most common type is PTFE (Teflon) although PFA gets used for wafer boats.  See the Dupont website for a nice comparison chart.
