This is an old revision of the document!

Heatguns are often used to strip PCBs

Steinel makes good “prosumer” grade heat guns as well as some industrial ones - Ordered List Item

Fume extraction

As long as the PCB is heated evenly and kept below soldering temperatures it should not produce too much fumes. However, even still it will produce some and you should be prepared in case it heats unevenly and begins to smoke. There are a lot of small units for soldering availible, this page is about larger units that can handle potentially larger fume amounts from a heat gun

PACE

Tabletop fume extractors. Seem to be popular, I will likely get one of these (probably (EVAC-200) as there is good documetnation and looks like its easy to find an purchase filters for them

Models:

  • Evac 105: small ducted unit
  • Evac 200: larger ducted unit. Seems to be pretty popular
  • Evac 250: like the 200 but with bells and whistles like filter change alarm
  • Evac 500: has 3 feeds instead of 2 like the other units and of course more CFM

Ace Industries

Mixonix

Models:

  • Mixonix FE-1200

Airfiltronix
